Only a balanced Sierra could produce a balanced coffee.
The Indigenous Arhuaco, who believe the Sierra to be their mother – as well as the mother of everything that exists – have never used any artificial pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers that could do harm to the environment. The coffee is planted around the native trees that provide shelter to the Sierra’s diverse fauna and flora, and it is harvested by hand to ensure that the unripe cherries stay on the branch until they are ready to be picked.
Fairly Traded
Café Yuluka sells at a guaranteed minimum price to ensure that our growers receive prices adequate to cover their costs and make a profit. This living wage helps the Arhuaco achieve higher family-living standards and build thriving communities.

Organically Grown
Because no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers are used in the production of Café Yuluka, the only thing you will get from your coffee is great taste.
Shade Grown
Café Yuluka is grown under a lush canopy of tropical trees that allows it to slowly ripen in harmony with the seasons, producing a fully developed flavor. By preventing deforestation and providing a habitat for native species, and the many species of migratory birds that travel between Colombia and North America, shade-grown coffees also help conserve ecosystems.
Hand Picked
Coffee cherries ripen naturally at different rates, making their harvest a very selective process. Because unripe cherries can adversely affect the quality of the finished coffee, Café Yuluka is always hand-picked. This labor-intensive method produces a more consistent flavor.
Single Origin
Only the best single-origin coffees such as Café Yuluka can provide the drinker such a pleasant interaction with a specific place that no blend could duplicate. The special combination of sun, soil, moisture, and elevation that is unique to the Sierra Nevada ensures that the beauty of the land is alive in every cup.
